When they say 20oz, they actually mean it. They are PLENTY large enough for guinea pigs. We have 14 piggies with some separation between them, but there are 10 of them in one section that eat out of three bowls, but that is only putting a couple ounces in each bowl. They are plenty big enough. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely buy the 10oz crocks instead. You can fit a whole piggy in these bowls. Great quality, sturdy build. No problems whatsoever with them.
